Monica Hawke

Although Monica Hawke was born and raised in Vermont she has called the Sandhills region of NC home for over 30 years. She has lived in new homes and vintage homes during her years in Moore County. Southern Pines has been her home since 2015 when she purchased a cottage from 1932 and has enjoyed the renovation and reinvigorating process of making “Come What May” cottage beautiful and functional again.
Long ago, Monica lived in Cumberland County as an Army wife working for the Department of Social Services issuing welfare benefits. She moved to this area to find our quaint towns to raise her two children who are now grown and on their own. In her spare time she enjoys anything that is creative visually. She paints, she makes amazing quilts, gardens and still tweaking the look of her cottage. What surprises some is her slight dare devil adventure side. During her time as an Army wife, married to a parachute rigger, Monica learned to skydive and yes, jumped 54 times from a perfectly good airplane(s) – and helicopters! No broken bones or head injuries! She would love to find out what you enjoy and want to do from your homebase here in the area.
